QRLBIO004

The cornea is the transparent tissue that covers the front of the eye. It works with the lens of the eye to focus images on the retina for clear vision. Corneal damage can occur due to various reasons such as Eye injuries (burns, scratches, lacerations), dryness in eyes and infections. This condition can lead to loss of vision and development of cataract. Current treatment of corneal damage is corneal transplant. Currently, only 25,000 corneal transplants are done while the need is 100,000 in India. There is a need for developing advanced therapies for treating corneal damage. QRL is developing an autologous cell-based therapy-QRLBIO004 for treating corneal damage.
